The Studio
Two places. One aesthetic.
Two places. One aesthetic.
Lume was born from an unlikely path. A Brazilian engineer, trained in materials science, gradually discovered that what he really wanted to do was create purposeful objects.
Growing up in Brazil leaves its mark. The colors, the warmth, the way nature is never subtle, moving in waves, in curves, in forms that the human hand could hardly invent on its own. This visual language never went away. It found its way into every sketch, every model, every texture.
Today in Lisbon, Lume is the meeting point of these two worlds. The warmth and organic rhythm of Brazil. The precision, restraint, and confidence of a European design studio. The result is unique lighting and design.
Each piece begins as a study of form. We work with geometries inspired by the movement of waves, fluid, rhythmic, built layer by layer, which are translated into objects that capture light in unexpected ways. The goal is never decoration. It's the atmosphere. The atmosphere that transforms the feeling of a space the moment you enter it.
Everything is designed, modeled, and assembled in Lisbon. Made to order, one piece at a time. No stock, no excess, no shortcuts.
Our Designs
Wave I - Guaecá
Smooth curves. Tranquil presence.
Smooth curves. Calm presence.
Inspired by the landscapes of Guaecá Beach on the north coast of São Paulo, Brazil, this piece channels the gentle rhythm of the coastal waves into a sculptural form. Its curves capture movement frozen in time, tactile, calm, and organic.
Guaecá brings the tranquility of the Brazilian coast to your space. A piece that doesn't demand attention, but never loses it.
Wave II - Falésia
Verticality sculpted by nature.
Verticality sculpted by nature.
Inspired by the cliffs of Praia da Falésia , on the Algarve coast, this piece is defined by striking vertical lines, a direct translation of the rock walls sculpted over centuries by wind and sea. The geometry is deliberate: strong, balanced, with a serene yet unavoidable presence.
Falésia transforms any space into a contemporary retreat . The calm and character of the Portuguese coast , brought indoors.
Wave III - Copacabana
Curves designed to withstand the test of time.
Curves designed to withstand the test of time.
In 1970, Roberto Burle Marx paved Copacabana Beach with a pattern that moved like water. Fluid, rhythmic, unmistakable.
This piece was born from that same language. Its curves follow the movement of the sea, continuous, balanced, never static. As the light travels across the surface, it reveals depth and geometry that change throughout the day.
Copacabana is for spaces that doesn't content with the basics.
Wave IV - Saquarema
The Craft of Additive Manufacturing
Each Lume is built layer by layer using 3D printing (FDM), a process that gives us complete freedom over form, allowing for curves and geometries that traditional manufacturing simply cannot reproduce.
Whether in Brazil or Portugal, each piece tells a story.
Two origins. One studio.
Intentional design
Every Lume starts with a purpose.
