Lume Waves was born from the encounter between curiosity and the desire to create

During my studies in Materials Engineering, I discovered an unexpected passion: creating . Little by little, the technical side gave way to the curiosity of experimenting with shapes, textures, and light. This was how, somewhat by accident, this journey began, transforming ideas into objects that awaken the senses and tell stories.

Today, each piece is designed and produced in my home in Lisbon, with Brazilian roots echoing in the curves, colors and warmth of our designs. Each piece is imagined, printed and assembled with care.

Our home is where we slow down, breathe and recharge mentally. We believe that light and design have the power to shape that sense of warmth , presence and tranquility . Our lamps are created with this purpose in mind, and inspired by the natural beauty of waves, the movements of the ocean and organic forms.

At Lume Waves, every piece is a wave, and every wave, a reflection of something deeper.

IV - Copacabana

Curves that withstand time.

Inspired by the iconic Copacabana beach promenade, created by Roberto Burle Marx , Copacabana translates the fluid movement of the sea into continuous and balanced curves. Its design plays with light and shadow, creating depth and a presence in the environment.

A piece that brings rhythm, elegance, and coastal character to your space, perfect for those who value objects with history and a contemporary expression.

III - Fiji

Born of fire and softened by water

Fiji is born from the encounter between calm and energy, like the islands themselves that inspire it. Its organic form recalls the gentle curves of white sand beaches and the undulations of ancient eruptions that shaped the Fiji archipelago.

The Process

Additive Manufacturing

How We Produce,Layer by Layer

All of our products are created through additive manufacturing, a process known as 3D printing. More specifically, we use the technique of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), a method where a filament is melted through a nozzle and deposited layer by layer until the final part is formed.

This technique gives us incredible design freedom, allowing us to create unique, smooth shapes that would be virtually impossible to produce with traditional methods.

It is this process that allows us to maintain local, intentional and personal production.

The Materials

Sustainability

Sustainable by Nature and by Choice

We believe that good design shouldn’t compromise the planet. That’s why we chose 3D printing not only for its creative possibilities, but also because it’s a low-waste process, only the material needed is used, with no excess or leftovers.

Our lamps are printed with PLA and PETG , two materials that are aligned with our values:

  • PLA is made from renewable resources such as cornstarch or sugar cane, and is biodegradable under industrial conditions.

  • PETG is one of the easiest plastics to recycle and is known for its durability and low environmental impact.

We are committed to small-scale, local production. No mass production, no excess stock, just objects made to order, with intention and purpose.

From the form to the material, every decision is part of our mission: to create sustainable, emotionally lasting design.
