The design, originally conceived to guide pedestrians along the seashore, has become a timeless symbol of the meeting between nature and city.
Created in the 1970s, this visual language was not limited to Brazil. Roberto himself took the same concept to other coastal landscapes, including the Cascais Maritime Promenade and Rossio Square, reinforcing his vision of public spaces that invite a slower pace of life.
Like the sidewalk that inspires it, this piece alternates between contrast and harmony , presence and lightness . Its curves capture light dynamically, creating soft shadows that add depth to the space.
